About Brighton Mastering

Brighton Mastering is an independent mastering, mixing and audio post-production studio in Brighton, run by mastering engineer Nick Lewis.

As the name suggests, Brighton Mastering was initially focused solely on mastering. But over the years Nick found himself performing more and more mixing duties for both music and film, so the services of Brighton Mastering formally expanded to include online mixing and audio post-production alongside online mastering.

Nick is a true audiophile who loves sound for sound’s sake, but he is also a musician himself, so he understands music on a fundamental level; and the role both mastering and mixing play in making a recording feel as the artist(s) intended, beyond simply representing it. Mixing and mastering may be rooted in science, but they are essentially art.

The son of a filmmaker, producing final mixes for film, broadcast and online is just as natural to Nick as music, and he brings the same attitude to this work – using the science to communicate the intention behind the work, whilst complying with industry standards.

Brighton Mastering has an international client base spanning the UK, Europe, Australia, India and the USA. Although predominantly serving the independent music and film sectors, Nick has also worked for global brands such as Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and Red Bull.

Nick is well known in the Brighton music scene, having worked with some of the town’s favourite artists, including Abi Wade, Jack Watts, Laish, Monsters Build Mean Robots, Polymath, The Impellers, Time for T, Tigercub and Wytches.
